I joined a small enthusiastic group of like-minded photographs on a hot day in late May 2026 for a chance to photograph the Four Spotted Chaser on the Somerset Plains. Our mentor for the day was Andrew McCarthy FRPS. Andrew knew the area for the best attempt, and at 5.30am we set off from the carpark to his favourite location. Over the next five hours we saw many Chasers, plus an assortment of other interesting fauna and flora. These are some of my better attempts. Some taken with Fuji X-T3 80mm Macro lens (on tripod) , focus-stacking 15 frames, and processing in Photoshop. Others taken on Fuji X-T1 with 100-400mm lens, and Canon 6D full-frame with 70-200mm lens.
