COSTA RICA - FAUNA

On the second day of a 15 day holiday in Costa Rica with John Reilly, we were thrilled to see a Jaguar. We were on a tourist boat on the waterways of Tortuguero National Park, when our guide spotted the cat. Armed with only a 200mm lens I managed to take one frame, then he was gone in the blink of an eye. Back at the Evergreen Lodge I was asked repeatably if I was the photographer who captured the Jaguar. This was a ‘big deal’ – one had not been seen in the region for ten years. We managed to photograph many animals, birds, reptiles, and insects, but the Jaguar will always be that ‘special’ image from a wonderful holiday.
